BIPV/BAPV What are the difference?

BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) and BAPV (Building Applied Photovoltaics) are two types of photovoltaic systems that differ in their installation methods. BIPV systems are integrated into the building structure and serve as a building material, while BAPV systems are applied to the building surface as an external layer. In summary, BIPV systems replace conventional building materials, while BAPV systems are added on top of existing building materials.

Aesthetics

BIPV systems are integrated into the building structure and serve as building materials, which means they do not require additional space and blend in with the building's design. This is in contrast to BAPV systems, which are added on top of existing building materials and can often look out of place. BIPV is the clear winner when it comes to aesthetics.

Energy Efficiency

BIPV systems can be designed to optimize the building's orientation and shading, making them more energy-efficient than BAPV systems. BIPV systems can effectively reduce the building's energy consumption by providing insulation and shading. BAPV systems, on the other hand, cannot be designed to optimize the building's orientation and shading, resulting in lower energy efficiency.

BIPV vs BAPV: Why BIPV is the Better Choice

Photovoltaic systems are becoming increasingly popular for their ability to generate clean energy. BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) and BAPV (Building Applied Photovoltaics) are two types of photovoltaic systems that differ in their installation methods. While both systems have their advantages, BIPV stands out as the better choice for several reasons.

Lifespan

BIPV systems have a longer lifespan than BAPV systems. This is because BIPV systems are integrated into the building structure, which protects them from weather damage. BAPV systems, on the other hand, are applied to the building surface as an external layer and are, therefore, more prone to damage from weather conditions. BIPV provides a more durable and long-lasting solution.

Return on Investment

BIPV systems can serve as both a building material and a power generator, reducing overall construction costs and energy expenses. In contrast, BAPV systems are added on top of existing building materials, which means they do not provide any cost savings in terms of construction. Additionally, BIPV systems have a higher return on investment due to their longer lifespan, better energy efficiency, and aesthetic appeal.

Zhang Jia Kou Solar Decathlon

Top Energy BIPV

For over a decade, Quacent has been dedicated to the research and development of green and energy-saving buildings. During this time, we have sponsored research projects at Tianjin University, Beijing University, Tsinghua University, and the Dalian University of Technology for the Solar Decathlon, and have gained valuable experience in the industry.

In collaboration with leading domestic roofing, solar, and prefab house experts, Quacent has launched the "Top Energy BIPV Solar Shingles-Series A"

Top Energy's Series A Stone-coated metal roof solar tiles are a type of Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) that serve as both roofing material and power generators. They are designed to resemble stone-coated metal roofing tiles but with the added benefit of generating clean energy. These tiles are durable, long-lasting, and energy-efficient, providing both cost savings and aesthetic appeal. They are an excellent option for those seeking to incorporate sustainable building design into their homes or buildings.

Our Series A tiles are the ultimate solution for homeowners who seek to adopt green energy. These tiles are equipped with monocrystalline photovoltaic (PV) modules, renowned for their high efficiency and durability. Boasting 75 watts of power per piece, these tiles are an excellent means of generating clean energy for your home.

What's more, our Series A tiles are fully compatible with our stone-coated metal roof tiles, enabling you to switch to solar energy without requiring a complete roof replacement. With our easy-to-follow instructions and customer support team, installation is a walk in the park.

But wait, there's more. We have complete faith in our Series A tiles and provide extensive warranty coverage, ensuring your investment is safeguarded. With our unwavering customer support and dedication to environmental stewardship, you can embrace sustainability with complete confidence!
